Q. What if a player is falsely accused of being a jackass?
A. There are a few methods we have to combat this. One is the falsely accused person can contact us and let us know. Second users can vote up or down, they can agree or disagree with the jackass listing. If there are enough thumb down votes then the jackass submission will be hidden if not removed by wowjackass. Lastly there is a respond link on every jackass listing, anyone can respond to the jackass listing and explain why or why not they agree or disagree.
Q. While reviewing a jackass submission what are you looking for?
A. Several things, 57% (as of Feb 2010) of the submissions we receive are not approved. First we look for a solid reason as to why this player belongs on wowjackass. Is the person a loot ninja, trade spammer, hate spammer or a troll? Well, we want specific reasons for those labels. Just stating the person is a ninja will not add them to wowjackass. Second we look for a coherent message that is more than a few words long. If the message becomes too personal we do not approve it. Content that would point to a person’s RL identity is NEVER approved. Submissions with racist, discriminating, sexual and/or offensive content will not be approved.
Q. Why do some jackass listings have a Horde or Alliance icon and others do not?
A. On November 16, 2009 we implemented the Horde / Alliance field on the Add a Jackass form so many of the submissions submitted prior to that date will not have icons.
Q. Can I withdraw my submission after it has been made?
A. Yes, please contact us right away. Please provide the toon name and email address used when you made the original submission.
Q. Why was my submission rejected?
A. Here are a few common reasons submissions are rejected.
- Not enough detail, “He is a ninja” does not cut it. Explain what, where and how. If you have a screen shot include that as well.

- Too personal, talking about the individual’s mother, sister or dog will more than likely be rejected.
- Player ability, wowjackass is not a place to post about players’ abilities.
Q. Where can I post my screenshot(s)?
A. You can upload your screenshots for free at gamershots.com.
Note: screenshots are not required although encouraged.
Q. How do I take a screenshot in World of Warcraft?
A. The easiest way to capture, save and upload your screenshot is by using the free Windows Screenshot application created by gamershots.com. It is open source, free and safe to use. It is available for download from CNET here.

Q. Is wowjackass affiliated with Blizzard or any other World of Warcraft related businesses or websites?
A. Nope, wowjackass was created and is maintained by a small group of WoW players tired of douche bag ninjas, spammers and trolls.
Q. How long does it take for my jackass submission to be reviewed?
Typically 2 to 4 hours, depending on what time of day you made your submission. We sleep too so a submission at 3 AM probably will not be reviewed until we drag our sorry butts out of bed. Rest assured it will be reviewed within 24 hours.
